Just take our money now.
Thanks to the hugely successful Disney reboot of the Star Wars franchise with The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and hotly anticipated December release of The Last Jedi, a whole new generation of young fans have become enchanted and obsessed with the magical world of Jedis, stormtroopers, talking droids, and of course the Force.
It was therefore somewhat inevitable that Disney, as the kings of destination theme parks, would capitalise on the series’ popularity with dedicated Star Wars lands. And true to form it has been confirmed that not only is it actually happening, but we won’t have very long to wait to pay the sci-fi sets a visit.
Star Wars-inspired lands are already under construction at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, and are set to open in 2019. A new video has been released of what the parks will look like, and we’re pleased to see that the designs are incredibly realistic, faithful to the films, and not too ‘Disney-fied’.
As the official blurb explains:
“Both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.
guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
We can’t wait!
