Getting in shape for a Hollywood blockbuster demands more than the hour you spend in the gym
Diet has to be meticulously planned to meet the nutritional criteria of any fat loss programme. Chris Hemsworth had this in mind when he created Centr, a new health and fitness app designed to help you take full control of your lifestyle habits.
The app contains content from top trainers, wellbeing experts and celebrity chefs. One of those chefs, Dan Churchill, has provided a meat-free muscle-building meal to help you gain size and strength without piling on too many pounds.
Before joining forces with Hemsworth, Churchill caught the eye on MasterChef Australia. He worked as the personal chef to 2018 Winter Olympian Lindsey Vonn, who won a bronze medal for skiing.
When preparing diet programmes for Hemsworth and others looking to bulk up, Churchill recommends this sweet potato skillet hash.
It’ll take 25 minutes in total to cook, and serves two.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 red onion sliced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 500g sweet potatoes peeled and 1cm diced
- 1 red pepper deseeded and 1cm diced
- 2 tins of lentils (400g tins) drained and rinsed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 sprigs of fresh coriander
Method
- In a frypan, heat olive oil until simmering over medium-low heat. Add onions and garlic and cook for 8-10 minutes until completely soft and translucent. Season well with salt, pepper, cumin and cayenne.
- Add sweet potato and red pepper and cook for another 10 minutes or until sweet potato is almost completely cooked through. Add lentils and stir to heat through. Make six small wells in the mixture and add eggs one by one. Cook eggs for five or more minutes until whites are set completely.
- Remove frypan from heat and top with fresh coriander to serve.
