Brands are severing ties with the company over the comments
Branded fitness regime CrossFit is under fire after comments made by its CEO regarding the death of George Floyd.
Greg Glassman, a film producer and the CEO of CrossFit, replied “FLOYD-19” to a public health body which tweeted that racism is a public health issue.
This tweet has provoked a strong backlash of criticism against Glassman and his company, and has seen a number of major brands like Reebok and hundreds of gym affiliated with the fitness regime cut ties with it.
Glassman has since apologised and claimed he was deeply “saddened” by the reaction, but the United Kingdom’s number one name in CrossFit, Zack George, has told us that he is ready to quit the competition due to the comments made.
