The 2017 World’s Strongest Man is looking ripped ahead of his fight with Hafthor Bjornsson
Eddie Hall has posted a brand new workout to help you build bigger shoulders. Former World’s Strongest Man Hall is currently in training for a boxing match against rival strongman, Hafthor Bjornsson.
Hall’s training has changed in order to get ready for in-ring action. He can deadlift 500 kilograms and log press 230 kilograms, but those lifts have taken the back seat in preparation for this upcoming fight.
Instead, the onus for Eddie Hall has been on building muscle endurance – and for that you need to be working with high reps.
Well, Hall’s latest shoulder workout is certainly high rep. 500 of them in fact. It might sound horrific, and it’s certainly a brutal workout, but it will help you build shoulders like boulders in the process.

All you’ll need is a set of dumbbells equivalent to 10% of your bodyweight. If you weigh 70 kilograms, that’s a set of seven kilogram dumbbells. But don’t let the simplicity fool you into thinking this shoulder workout is easy. It’s not.
Hall currently weighs somewhere between 150 and 160 kilograms, so he was working with 15 kilogram dumbbells. Chances are yours will be much lighter.
Eddie Hall’s 500 rep shoulder workout
Eddie Hall’s shoulder workout is comprised of the following five exercises:
- Rear Delt Raises: 20 reps
- Side Lateral Raises: 20 reps
- Front Raises: 20 reps (each arm)
- Shoulder Press: 20 reps
- Dumbbell Shrugs: 20 reps
Your shoulders will be seriously pumped come the final rep of shrugs. But it doesn’t end there. That’s just one round. You need to complete five rounds of this circuit to hit the 500 rep mark.
Sounds brutal, but it will get results.
