Making this one simple change to your diet can improve your sex life

Carl Kinsella

Yet another reason to cutback on the calories.

When it comes to losing weight, eating less seems like a pretty intuitive course of action.

A new study has shown, however, that cutting back on the extra helpings could also give you an extra helping in the bedroom, if you know what we mean.

The Pennington Biomedical Research Centre in Louisiana studied the diets of 218 healthy adults for two years. One group were randomly assigned to cut their caloric intake by 25%, while the other group stayed on the same diet (the control group).

Researcher found that restricting calories by a quarter led to an improvement in mood, sleep and overall quality of life.

It also helped them lose an average of 16lbs in weight over the 24-month period.

But the study also found that cutting back on food led to an increased sex drive among the people studied.

Compared with men in the control group, men in the intervention group experienced higher arousal scores, according to the study.
