Anthony Joshua is a big man.
The 6ft 6in fighter weighs over 16 stone, which isn’t massive in heavyweight boxing terms, but he needs serious calories to keep him training like a beast ready for his first title defence against Dominic Breazeale
Before his world title win over American southpaw Charles Martin it emerged that the Olympic gold medallist eats 4,500 calories a day to keep his engine firing.
The majority of his nutrition comes from whole foods – good sources of protein, carbs and fats.
But Joshua gave us an insight into the monster breakfast he eats to replenish his glycogen stores, repair and rebuild his muscles and power him through another hard day’s training.
We’ve never seen anything like it.
The 26-year-old IBF world champion four pieces of toast, two servings of beans, six poached eggs, beetroot, spinach and a protein shake.

Beans are a great complete protein and carb source, brown bread contains slow burning carbs and eggs are a great source of muscle-building protein and fat. Beetroot is proven to aid performance, while spinach helps the body use protein better for muscle mass.
Adding all that lot up it comes to more than 1,000 calories.
Thousands of Joshua fans on Twitter couldn’t believe how much food the champ lays away in one sitting…
