The 36-year-old is being put through his paces in his plush home gym by former Harlequins and Sale rugby player Mel Deane.
Thursday looks like full-body workout day in the Ferdinand household, with Rio doing barbell bench press, bent-over rows, dumbbell curls for them arms and some metabolically-demanding wall ball thrusters to finish.
