Volvo have teamed up with UK design firm Grey London and Swedish start up Albedo 100 to create a reflective spray paint for cyclists that is only visible at night.
The invention dubbed LifePaint is part of the car manufacturer’s goal for zero pedestrians or cyclists to be killed or seriously injured by a new Volvo in 2020.
Invisible by daylight, the spray glows brightly in the glare of car headlights. It is water-based and lasts approximately one week after application.
LifePaint is already available to the public on a trial basis in six bike stores across London and Kent, including Peloton in Spitalfields.
As well as keeping cyclists safe and reducing the likelihood of road accidents, the spray has the added advantage of making you look like an extra from Tron.
