There is little as perfect as a chip butty.
Just some slices of buttered bread, with chips between them, and maybe some tomato sauce. It’s a staple of chip shops across the country.
But now Americans have discovered it. Just watch this video from INSIDER Food:

Yes, that is just chips in some bread. But they’re acting like it’s some kind of exotic new street food. There’s probably going to be trendy pop-up food carts selling them in Brooklyn and San Francisco pretty soon. *sigh*.
Of course, Brits were quick to point out that it’s nothing new…
Ffs that’s a chip butty

This is almost as embarrassing as when Americans discovered the sausage roll last year, like it was some sort of world changing groundbreaking discovery. Meanwhile in Britain we’ve been having this food for years and years and years ???

It’s a bloody chip butty.

No shit Sherlock! Since the dawn of time we in the UK have called that a chip butty. Not sure why you felt the need for the Scream emoji.
Can just imagine your excitement if you ever encounter garlic bread… This bread has garlic inside it. Wow! ??

They were also taking guesses at what bog standard British creation they were going to get excited at next.
