Amid the growing concern surrounding the Omicron variant, the health secretary spoke to Sky News about the 10 per cent of people still choosing not to get the vaccine.
“I just cannot emphasise enough the impact they are having on the rest of society,” he said.
“They must really think about the damage they are doing to society… they take up hospital beds that could have been used for someone with maybe a heart problem, or maybe someone who is waiting for elective surgery.”

He continues to say that instead of “protecting themselves” and their community, individuals choose instead not to get vaccinated.
He added: “They are really having a damaging impact and I just can’t stress enough, please do come forward and get vaccinated.”

Across the entirety of the United Kingdom, Scotland is smashing the stats with 9 per cent of people still unvaccinated, while the number is 10 per cent in Wales, 11 per cent in England and 14 per cent in Northern Ireland.
While 10 per cent doesn’t sound like a lot, it does equate to over five million people.
The above figures do not include people who are ineligible for the vaccine.

Javid also spoke to the BBC about Christmas, stating that he might not have the “usual amount of hugs I get from my mum”.
He added: “You just take a little bit of caution. I think that’s a sensible response.”
In reply, many of the responses slam Javid, dubbing him as the “problem”.
One person said: “When you ‘insist’ people have the vaccine & ‘ridicule’ them when they have made an informed decision.”
