This is big news for fans of the Sheffield band.
The frontman of Arctic Monkeys, Alex Turner, has confirmed new materials are on the way, after being stopped by a fan.
Twitter user William Hann claimed he asked Turner about the prospect of shows in the UK and new music yesterday.
And although the singer was tight-lipped about prospective shows, he reportedly said that a new single was on its way ‘soon’.
@ArcticMonkeysUS just met Al again. I can confirm the beard remains, but he gave away nothing about UK dates and said the single would be “soon” 🤷🏻♂️ pic.twitter.com/WY6DEzBgGc

It’s already known that recording for their next album began at the end of last year, so the revelation is hardly a surprise.
According to NME, O’Malley spoke to motorcycle website For The Ride back in September about their coming released, with the article stating that “Nick found time for the track day before recording began on the eagerly anticipated sixth album, started at a secret location in September. The new album will be out next year because ‘if it isn’t, we’ve got problems’.”
