It’s official! The beef is over
Drake and Meek Mill have finally called a truce on their epic war of words that started back in 2015 when Meek accused Drake of not writing his own verses.
Bringing Meek out on stage last night during the Boston leg of his Aubrey and the Three Migos tour, Drake surprised an excited TD Garden crowd by bringing his once arch nemesis out on stage. Meek opened the performance with his popular “Dreams and Nightmares” intro, and judging from the video clips it looked epic.
Meek Mill told the world back in May that the beef was officially over and it looks like last night was the official confirmation of this.

Fans had an inkling that a surprise appearance might have been on the cards thanks to an Instagram post by Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, a close friend of Meek Mill. Rubin shared an image of Meek’s wrist sporting a watch next to his Aubrey and the Three Migos credentials. The Sixers co-owner supported Meek closely during his stint in prison.
Back in 2015, Meek went after Drake, accusing him of hiring ghostwriters to write his songs following the release of their “R.I.C.O.” collaboration, taken from Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money album. Drake relentlessly went after Meek after that, with a host of diss tracks and memes that almost ended Meek’s career in the same way 50 Cent ended Ja Rule’s career during the early 2000s.
This year’s been a pretty insane year for Meek Mill, who, after he was released from prison in April, has become an advocate for criminal justice reform. Rubin, with help from Meek, will be creating a “major foundation” that will be focused primarily on reforming the criminal justice system.
Here’s hoping Drake and Meek Mill can recreate the magic of “Amen” in the future.
