Six years after its cancellation, Top Boy is back
Drake kicked off his stretch of shows in London on Monday night with a bang, not only delivering a typically spectacular show but also by dropping an exclusive trailer for the new season of Top Boy, which was cancelled in 2012.
The TV crime drama gained a cult following during its first two seasons but was not renewed for a third season. That’s when Drake stepped in and offered to pay for the production of season three.
It’s been a long time in the making, but thanks to the Canadian rapper, the show is returning, this time to Netflix. And the first taster of what we can expect to see was aired at the O2 arena last night. The audience’s reaction tells you everything you need to know about its popularity among young people, especially in London.

The trailer features UK rapper Dave, who recently topped the charts with his debut album Psychodrama. Drake is also reported to be starring in the show. The exact date that the show will drop on Netflix is not yet known, but the official trailer says it will land this autumn.
Other artists who star in the show include Grime legend Kano and Little Simz.
