EELS release another new track ahead of their upcoming 14th studio album

E has a “Premonition” on the EELS’ latest release.

It’s not long now until the EELs release their 14th studio album, The Deconstruction. Gifting fans with yet another taster ahead of its release in the form of “Premonition”, it’s a stripped back and reflective moment that will pluck at the heartstrings if you let it.

Following recent single “Today is the Day”, the video for which stars Mike Mitchell of Netflix series Love, the pair of songs couldn’t be more contrasting if they tried. This should give fans an idea of what type of variety to expect from The Deconstruction when it arrives April 6th.

Recorded at The Compound, Los Feliz, and The Pie in Pasadena, California, the new album was performed by E, Koool G Murder and P-Boo, with The Deconstruction Orchestra & Choir and produced by frontman, E, as well as Mickey Petralia (marking his first time in an EELS production chair since the band’s second album Electro-Shock Blues in 1998).

Keeping with the topic that there’s beauty in everything, no matter how broken it is – originally explored on their major label debut – EELS singer/songwriter E (real name Mark Oliver Everett) said of the new album:

“It’s 15 new EELS tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it. Other times you have to try to make it yourself. And then there are times you have to tear something apart to find something beautiful inside.”
