The “Boo’d Up” singer is coming home
In support of her self-titled debut album, rising R&B star Ella Mai has announced The Debut Tour.
Set to kick off in the UK in January 2019, the tour stops off in Paris, Amsterdam and several other European cities before heading back to the United States, where the British singer has been welcomed with open arms for the past eight months.
Her breakthrough single “Boo’d Up” went quadruple-platinum and recently made history as the longest running number one by a woman on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart. The follow up “Trip” broke into the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified gold.
Both songs are included on the new album, a stunning debut that features special guest appearances from EGOT-winner John Legend (“Everything”), R&B songstress H.E.R. (“Gut Feeling”), and Chris Brown on the upbeat fan favourite, “Whatchamacallit”.
The Debut Tour dates are as follows:
Jan 8th 2019 @ O2 Institute2, Birmingham
Jan 9th 2019 @ O2 Ritz, Manchester
Jan 10th 2019 @ O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
2018 has been a phenomenal year for the 23-year-old singer-songwriter, but Ella Mai’s success story didn’t happen overnight. According to Ella it’s a testament to the years of training and hard work she put in dating back to when she was a little girl belting out show tunes in school plays.
“I started in musical theatre when I was young,” she says. “So we incorporated singing early.”
Tickets for Ella Mai’s debut tour go on sale October 26th at LiveNation
