Sir Elton brought an end to Ed Sheeran’s remarkable run at the top of the charts.
Sir Elton John has bagged a UK Number One for the first time since 2005 with his Dua Lipa- collaboration, ‘Cold Heart.’
The song had spent three weeks at number two before finally taking top spot.
In the last week, ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ scored 64,000 chart sales, including 5.9 million streams.
The last number one that Sir Elton had was when he appeared on rapper 2Pac’s posthumous 2005 single ‘Ghetto Gospel.’
He is now the first artist to have a top 10 single in six separate decades.
It is also Dua Lipa’s third number one single, following ‘New Rules’ and her Calvin Harris collab ‘One Kiss.’
‘Cold Heart’ is a disco reworking of some of Elton’s biggest hits, including ‘Rocket Man’, and surged to popularity after a remix from Australian dance trio Pnau.
The song marks @eltonofficial’s eighth Official Number 1 single (and first since 2005) and @DUALIPA's third 🥳

By reaching the number one spot, Elton and Dua ended a four-week run for Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’ at the top of the chart.
But Sheeran had actually been top of the charts for a remarkable 15 weeks, with his single ‘Bad Habits’ having been number one for 11 weeks before he knocked himself off top spot with ‘Shivers.’
During the week, even Ed himself had encouraged fans to get Sir Elton to number one

If his appearance on BBC Breakfast last week is anything to go by, we can assume he probably had a few beers to celebrate. And well-deserved.
Newcastle fan Sam Fender took part in the celebrations following news of the club takeover yesterday.
He told #BBCBreakfast he’s a little worse for wear this morning. 🥴https://t.co/7yB6RJhdnB pic.twitter.com/xhiMqFlX8N
