It’s not the first time Slim Shady has rapped about his daughter on a track.
Eminem is back with his first album in four years, and fans are welling up over the lyrics in one particular song.
The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) dropped at midnight last night and boasts a whopping 19 tracks – including a couple of skits and interludes.
We were treated to the first single from the record, Houdini, back in May, accompanied by a very trippy music video.
That track opens with a skit from Eminem’s longtime manager Paul Rosenberg, who calls up the rapper to tell him: “Hey Em, it’s Paul, uh, I was listening to the album… good f***ing luck, you’re on your own,” before hanging up the phone. Then, Eminem’s most famous melody “guess who’s back, back again” kicks in.
Houdini uses the same iconic hook from the 2002 hit Without Me and similarly sees the 8 Mile star taking aim at critics, friends and his own family, which includes daughters Hailie Jade Scott, Alaina Scott and Stevie Laine Scott.
One line reads: “F**k my own kids, they’re brats.
“They can screw off, them and you all.”
The video features cameos from Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, 50 Cent and comedian Shane Gillis.
While fans praised that track for it’s nostalgic feel and remnants of the ‘old Em’, lots more have taken to social media today to express their love towards a more sentimental song on the album where Marshall Mathers opens up on his adoration for his recently-married 28-year-old daughter Hailie Jade.
Titled Temporary, the newly-released song features the voice of Eminem’s now podcaster/social media influencer daughter – whom he shares with long-term ex Kimberly Anne “Kim” Scott.
It is believed the song is a love letter from the 51-year-old to his former little girl, written as though he has passed away.
Whilst the intro includes lines spoken and sung by Hailie herself, the rapper can later be heard telling listeners: “Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song / To help you cope with life now that I’m gone / How should I start? Just wanna say / Look after Eleana, Stevie and Uncle Nate.”
Eminem continues: “And, sweetie, be strong; I know I was your rock, and I still am / Saying goodbye is just not ever easy / Why you crying? Just stop Hailie, baby, dry your eyes, this is not forever.”

A contingency of the rapper’s fans were moved by the deeply personal lines, with many claiming it had left them sobbing.
“Was not expecting another song to Hailie but Temporary hits hard,” one person posted on X.
“Eminem’s temporary track should have came with a warning”, another added.
