The audience went wild as the actor’s face appeared above them
Audience members at the VMAs got a rather strange surprise when Johnny Depp made a cameo appearance…sort of.
MTV’s Video Music Awards took place in front of a live audience in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday night. And there were a number of standout moments that took place throughout the evening.
The Aquaman actor is seeking an appeal against the decision. A spokesperson for the 36-year-old suggested her team are confident a different result could come out of the appeal, given that “so much new evidence has come to light”.
Earlier in August, thousands of pages of documents filed in the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were unsealed, revealing several sensational claims that both sides tried to get presented to the jury. The documents included alleged text conversations between Depp and Marilyn Manson, who is accused of sexual abuse and grooming by a number of women, including Westworld actress and former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, who he is suing for defamation.
Depp’s team also wanted to tell the jury about her “brief stint as an exotic dancer years before she met Mr. Depp,” according to Heard’s lawyers. They claimed this was an attempt by the Pirates of the Caribbean star to suggest his ex-wife had at one time been an escort.
