Liam Gallagher calls Saturday Night Live Oasis skit ‘excruciating’

‘Are they meant to be comedians?’

Liam Gallagher has hit back at a Saturday Night Live sketch that mocked the Oasis brothers for not getting along.

The skit which aired as part of Weekend Update, starred James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman as Noel and Liam Gallagher.

The pair were seen bickering like children before agreeing on a few things they liked, including SpongeBob SquarePants.

A fan on X asked Liam: “How do you feel about SNL’s impression of you last night?”

Liam responded simply saying that it was ‘Excruciating’.

Later, he responded to another fan saying: “I wouldn’t expect anything else from them. Are they meant to be comedians?”

Co-host Colin Jost interviewed the Gallagher brothers in the sketch, asking if they’d be able to get along for the run of shows in the upcoming reunion tour.

The pair, who attempted to mimic their Mancunian accents, argued for a while before finding common ground on their favourite and least favourite Sex in the City boyfriends.

Liam was also asked about the time Oasis appeared on the show in 1997 with Matthew Perry as host.

He responded: “I actually don’t remember being on it.”

The brothers’ long-standing feud has caused many to doubt whether the shows scheduled for next summer will actually go ahead.

According to Sportsbook Review, bookmakers are currently offering 7/2 odds that the band will split up before they kick off the dates.

Meanwhile, odds of the brothers not staying on good terms long enough to finish the tour currently stand at 23/20.

Liam has been noticeably antagonistic on X ever since the reunion tour was announced, hitting out at fans who criticised the ticket-buying process.

On X he wrote: “OASIS are back your welcome and I hear their ATTITUDE STINKS good to know somethings never change.”

Last month he slammed Irish band Fontaines D.C. after band members Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III said on a Dutch radio show that they ‘couldn’t really give a s***’ about the Oasis reunion tour.

Liam responded: “F*ck them little spunkbubbles. I’ve seen better dressed ROADIES. They look like a shit EMF.”

The tour kicks off on July 4, 2025 at Principality Stadium, Cardiff, Wales.
