The Flying Birds musician once demanded £20 million to reunite with brother Liam, so he must really dislike Jezza
Fans of Oasis may well be calling for a general election as soon as possible now that Noel Gallagher has claimed that he would rather reform the Mancunian band than see Jeremy Corbyn become prime minister.
One of the defining images of Tony Blair’s time as PM was the Britpop star’s appearance at a Downing Street bash in 1997, but it appears Gallagher’s love affair with the Labour Party has not survived into the Corbyn era.
When football presenter Alan Brazil put the question to the singer-songwriter, he was taken aback.
“Oh my god,” responded Gallagher. “I’d have to get the band back together I think. No chance.”
The revelations, revealed live on Talksport, contribute to the sense that Gallagher doesn’t particularly like the Labour leader, who he previously described as a ‘Communist’.
And this must be considered in the context that an Oasis reunion appears to increasingly unlikely, Noel telling the Daily Star of what it would take to perform one more time with brother Liam, he said: “For 20 million quid, one gig – that is good money isn’t it?”
However, Liam is publicly keen on discussing a reunion, having not stepped on stage together since 2009, and recently stated on Twitter that he is ‘ready to go’.
These rumours also come following the emergence of rumours that Oasis are set to headline a major UK festival in 2019, although similar talk of a mega Slane Castle show being planned have been doused by frontman Liam.
