The Zutons reunite for 2019 ‘Who Killed the Zutons’ tour

The tour will coincide with the 15th anniversary of the band’s seminal album Who Killed the Zutons

It’s been a while but The Zutons are back.

Announcing a series of dates in March and April of 2019, the Liverpool band’s return coincides with the 15^th anniversary of their 2004 album Who Killed The Zutons.

Spawning hit singles “Pressure Point”, “Remember Me”, “Confusion” and “You Will You Won’t”, the album was released April 14th 2004 to serious critical acclaim, sold over 600,000 copies and was shortlisted for a Mercury Prize.

Going on to record two more albums, Tired of Hanging Around (featuring “Valerie”, one of the biggest songs of this millennium) and their final album, You Can Do Anything in 2008, The Zutons are often celebrated as one of the UK’s favourite bands of the 2000s.

Reforming for a one off fund-raising show back in 2016 in celebration of their close friend, Kristian Ealey, it was then conversations started about the possibility of new shows and new music.

The band’s frontman Dave McCabe said:

“We’ve all been off doing our own thing for a little while, and it’s only with hindsight and a bit of space that you see how special something really is. It’s easy to take things for granted when you’re younger, but now it’s just amazing to think of those songs still having a place in the world, and for people to come and hear us play them again.”

5^th – Liverpool Olympia (tickets)

Tickets go on sale Friday 30^th November at 9am.
