Canadian actor Alan Thicke has died, aged 69.
Alan, best known for his role on the 1980s show Growing Pains and the father of singer Robin Thicke, died yesterday in California. A spokesperson for the actor confirmed his death.
Robin Thicke spoke to The Los Angeles Times and confirmed that his father suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his youngest son Carter.
He said, “I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him. The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure.”
Alan was an actor, songwriter, game show and talk show host. He grew to fame through one of his earlier roles as Jason Seaver in Growing Pains and has appeared in many TV series since then.
His most recent role was on Netflix’s Fuller House, something he was very proud of and only tweeted about it yesterday saying, “Season 2 Fuller House looking good. I even like the ones I’m not in!”
