Baldwin has previously said he feels no guilt over Hutchins’ death
Alec Baldwin has posted a video to his Instagram showing a sign that reads ‘Everything is going to be alright’, just hours after the family of Halyna Hutchins launched a lawsuit against the actor for wrongful death.
On Tuesday, Hutchins’ family filed a civil lawsuit in New Mexico alleging that Baldwin “recklessly shot” the cinematographer.
Hutchins died after being hit by a live round that was fired from a gun Baldwin was holding as he rehearsed on the set of the film Rust.
The family also accuse producers of “cutting corners on safety procedures where human lives were at stake, rushing to stay on schedule and ignoring numerous complaints of safety violations.”
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified “substantial damages.”
Just hours after it was filed, Baldwin posted a video on his Instagram of a multicoloured sign saying ‘Everything is going to be alright.’ There is no speech over the footage, with just the sound of traffic in the background.

The lawsuit reads: “Halyna Hutchins deserved to live, and the Defendants had the power to prevent her death if they had only held sacrosanct their duty to protect the safety of every individual on a set where firearms were present instead of cutting corners on safety procedures where human lives were at stake, rushing to stay on schedule and ignoring numerous complaints of safety violations.”
In December last year, Baldwin told ABC News that he felt regret over the tragedy but no guilt, maintaining that he didn’t pull the trigger.
He said: “Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but it’s not me.
“I didn’t pull the trigger. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”
