Rick 'n' roll

Since the vicious attacks in Paris, Anonymous have pledged to do everything they can to disrupt ISIS.

The online activist group have already released a guide on how to hack ISIS as well as taking down over 5,000 pro-ISIS accounts on social media.

Social media is a particularly important tool for ISIS, as they utilise its convenience to recruit new members, among other things.

Now Anonymous have revealed the next step in their plan to disrupt the terrorist group’s main tool of organisation, by spamming commonly used, pro-ISIS hashtags with Rick Roll videos.

For those of you unfamiliar, a Rick Roll is basically where you trick someone into clicking on a video of Rick Astley’s 1987 hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.

While it’s usually used to annoy your friends, Anonymous believe it will be a useful tool in frustrating ISIS as their preferred communication channels are overrun with sultry tones of Mr Astley.
