Having pledged to wage cyber-war against ISIS in the aftermath of the Paris attacks, Anonymous have now released a how to guide for prospective hackers.
As part of OpParis – the group’s online campaign to bring down the terrorist group – Anonymous have posted three guides detailing how to identify and take down websites and social media accounts containing ISIS content.
According to a report in the International Business Times, the posts include a ‘NoobGuide’ for anyone wanting to learn how to hack, a ‘Reporter’ guide that explains how to set up a Twitter bot for uncovering ISIS accounts, and a ‘Searcher’ guide for finding ISIS websites.
AÂ member of Anonymous also reportedly used the posts as an invitation to others to join their cyber war against ISIS:
‘Instead of sitting idle in the [chat] channel or lurking around and doing nothing, you can benefit greatly from the different tools and guides that have been provided to you.
‘Your contribution means a lot and we encourage you to partake in all of the Op’s activities if you can, the more the merrier.’
