Anti-vaxxers storm Covid testing centre and trash equipment in ‘disgraceful’ protest

Danny Jones

The behaviour has been described as ‘dreadful’ and against the ‘pro-choice’ ideals anti-vaxxers purport to champion

Anti-vaxxers trashed and stole from an NHS Test and Trace site in London, abusing staff and volunteers in a protest against the coronavirus vaccine and future lockdowns on Wednesday.

In footage circulated on social media, protesters can be seen infiltrating a marquee in Milton Keynes and stealing equipment, including currently scarce Covid tests.

As well as chanting “you can stick your f***ing vaccine up your arse”, numerous NHS workers are heckled as the anti-vaxxers shout “shame on you!” and “you’re committing murder and you don’t even know it”.

The protest took place on the same day Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited a vaccination centre in Milton Keynes, encouraging people to get a booster jab and revealing that some 90 per cent of those in intensive care had not got a booster.

Protesters carried megaphones and placards reading “Freedom is not negotiable” on Wednesday.

As one person declares that they “come peacefully”, another can be seen launching a traffic cone at the marquee carrying out Covid testing.

NHS professionals and MPs, like shadow trade secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds, condemned the behaviour as “dreadful”, while many online pointed out the irony of the anti-vax movement’s pro-choice rhetoric while continuing to disrupt the Covid response and abuse those who believe in vaccines and testing.

On Thursday, it was revealed that the government is preparing to set up more nightingale Covid hubs as they predict a secondary surge of Covid infections following the holiday period.
