The Australian Instagram influencer was found dead aboard a multi-million-pound yacht, days before reuniting with her family in Kefalonia
Authorities have launched an investigation into the death of 20-year-old Sinead McNamara after she was found unconscious on a yacht belonging to multi-millionaire Alberto Beilleres in Greece.
McNamara’s body was discovered tangled in ropes at the rear of the ship on Friday evening by a crew member. She had been working on the boat for the past four months.
Emergency services were called to the scene and she was air-lifted to hospital, however, she was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. An autopsy is now being carried out to determine the cause of death.
Originally from Port Macquarie in New South Wales, she had been travelling the world aboard the Mayan Queen IV along with twenty other crew members.
Her official role on the yacht remains unknown, but her time aboard was due to finish and she had been planning to reunite with her mother and sister in Kefalonia, who had been on their way to meet her when they were informed of her death.
The Australian was a popular figure on Instagram with over 12,000 followers. She used her Instagram following to post pictures of her travels and the luxurious life she lived.

The Mayan Queen IV belongs to 87-year old Albert Beilleres, a Mexican mining magnate, though it is not believed his family were aboard at the time of Sinead’s death.
Friends, family, and followers of Sinead have taken to Instagram to express their heartbreak and pay their condolences.
“You lived life with no fear and it’s a blessing to have known you,” one friend wrote.
Another said: “Everyone should take a page from Sinead’s book – where she was meant to have a holiday in Bali that turned into a year and a half trip sailing across the world.”
The yacht is to remain at the port of Argostoli as investigations continue.
