It comes after LadBaby criticised the band for their song attacking Boris Johnson
The band behind ‘Boris Johnson Is STILL A F***ing C**t‘ has accused chart rival LadBaby of “using food banks to hawk records” and “using poverty, hunger and despair to promote” his career.
The Kunts reached number five in the Christmas chart last year with their song ‘Boris Johnson is a F***ing C**t’ and have released another version this year in protest against the prime minister and his government.
But LadBaby singer Mark Hoyle has criticised the band for their single, as he and his family go for a fourth consecutive Christmas number one with their song “Sausage Rolls For Everyone”, a reworking of Ed Sheeran and Elton John’s track “Merry Christmas”.
The song has been released in aid of the Trussell Trust, which helps run food banks across the UK.
Speaking to the Official Charts about the race for number one and talking about The Kunts’ track, Hoyle said: “It takes a certain sort of person to download a song with that in the title, but you never know.

“There’s definitely an element that people aren’t happy with this government, but our song is for charity – I don’t believe theirs is – and ours is trying to raise more money than ever for food banks. It’s something that is even more important given everything that is going on.”
The punk band pulled no punches with their response to Hoyle’s comments
In a statement shared with The Independent, The Kunts said they had made large donations to MIND and Cardiac Risk in the Young following the success of their song ‘Boris Johnson is a F***ing C**t’ in last year’s Christmas chart.
The band said that they chose to donate like this rather than releasing a “charity single” to cut out “the large percentage accrued by record companies, sales platforms like Amazon and Apple, management, marketing, and PR”.

And agree “wholeheartedly” that it takes a certain sort of person to download their music, saying: “It takes the sort of person that is prepared to look beyond the tepid diarrhoea that is pumped into people’s consciousness via mainstream TV, radio, and the tabloid newspapers.”
“The sort of person that is prepared stand up for what they believe in and call out the government on their lies, cover-ups, and corruption. The sort of person who can see that it was the Conservatives’ politics of selfishness, misery, and deprivation that caused this country to need food banks in the first place.”
The Kunts acknowledged to the Indy that the language in its song “maybe vulgar” but said it would not be “so vulgar as to use food banks to hawk records, increase our profile or sign lucrative sponsorship deals”, something it accuses LadBaby of doing.
LadBaby is yet to respond to The Kunts’ claims.
On Sunday, the first look at the Christmas chart showed that The Kunts were at number five with their song, whilst LadBaby is on course for a record-breaking fourth consecutive Christmas number one.
