‘Someone give this reporter a cup of tea.’
People have been left in shock and admiration for a BBC reporter who delivered a report on the extreme weather caused by Storm Arwen… whilst standing in Storm Arwen.
Arwen has been battering the country over the weekend, leading to the Met Office issuing a red warning for some parts of the UK, meaning that the weather poses a risk to life. Tragically, three people have lost their lives as a result of the weather
But BBC reporter Lorna Gordon braved the elements, delivering a dramatic piece to camera for the broadcaster in the torrential rain and ferocious winds.
She was clearly battling against the conditions and struggling to be heard over the gale-force winds.
This led some to question whether it was really necessary for the BBC to send Gordon up to Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire to report on the storm.

Another said: “Seriously @bbc why have you got Lorna Gordon in Stonehaven in the middle of a storm. Especially at the harbour. Negligent behaviour!”

Total commitment to the job. Let’s hope she did indeed get a well-earned cuppa after that, and found someone a bit warmer and drier.
