Cody Fisher was stabbed to death in a nightclub on Boxing Day
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder of 23-year-old Cody Fisher on nightclub dance floor in Birmingham.
Police were called to The Crane nightclub on Adderley Street in Digbeth just before 11.45pm on Boxing Day after reports that a 23-year-old had been stabbed.
Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead around 30 minutes later, West Midlands Police said.
On Tuesday evening, West Midlands Police confirmed that 23-year-old Cody Fisher was the victim.
In a statement, a family member said: “They have broken our hearts; I have lost my best friend. My family and I are asking for privacy and respectfulness at this heart-breaking time.”
Now, West Midlands Police have confirmed that two men are being held on suspicion of murder.

In a statement, the force said: “We’ve arrested two men on suspicion of the murder of footballer Cody Fisher, who was stabbed to death at a nightclub in Birmingham on Boxing Day.
“A 22-year-old was held at an address in Birmingham city centre just after midnight, while a second man aged 21 was arrested in London.
“They will be questioned on suspicion of the murder of Cody, who was stabbed on the dance floor of the Crane nightclub on Adderley Street just before midnight on Boxing Day.”
Since the tragic news of the 23-year-old’s death was confirmed, tributes have been pouring in for the young man, who was a non-league footballer and school sport coach.
Stratford Town FC said in a tribute on its website: “Our sincere condolences go to the family and friends of Cody Fisher.
“Our thoughts are with the you at this very difficult time.
“Cody made 54 appearance for The Bards and having started with the club in 2018.”
Bromsgrove Sporting FC, Cody’s friends, and the school he coach at have also all paid tribute to the young man.
