Watching four policemen forcing Chewbacca on to the bonnet of a police van while attempting to arrest the seven foot Wookie is one of the weirdest things you’ll see today.
A man dressed as the Star Wars character was acting as chauffeur for a mayoral candidate – who is himself running as Darth Vader – in the Ukrainian city of Odessa.
Upon failing to provide documentation to the police, the Chewbacca impersonator soon found himself in a spot of bother.
The Daily Dot report that the Star Wars pair represent the country’s Internet Party, whose mayoral candidate is actually legally named Darh Vader.
The story becomes even more amusing. Following his arrest Chewbacca was taken to a court and issued with a fine.
He claimed that he was unable to pay the fine, stating that his funds “are in an intergalactic bank that has no branches on this planet,” and was eventually released with a warning.
Surely the main concern here is that Chewbacca has now switched allegiances and is happy to taxi the Sith Lord around to wherever he fancies?
