I for one welcome our new overlords
Seemingly dissatisfied with an army of robot war hounds, Boston Dynamics have released new video showing Atlas (why the fuck is it named after the man on whose shoulders the world rests) running and jumping over obstacles. Movements that could be described as tactical.
When is someone going to look into this? What’s the motive fellas?
As one commenter pointed out, who was expecting driverless cars to lead to the development of peopleless people and, as a side note, why doesn’t it have a head?
The Boston Dynamics website says Atlas is the latest in its line of advanced humanoid robots in development.
“Atlas’ control system coordinates motions of the arms, torso and legs to achieve whole-body mobile manipulation, greatly expanding its reach and workspace,” the company says. “Atlas’ ability to balance while performing tasks allows it to work in a large volume while occupying only a small footprint.”
“Stereo vision, range sensing and other sensors give Atlas the ability to manipulate objects in its environment and to travel on rough terrain. Atlas keeps its balance when jostled or pushed and can get up if it tips over.”
If you want to survive the uprising, I suggest you start treating your fridge with a little more respect.
