Bruce Willis grips onto daughter’s hand amid dementia diagnosis

‘My guy’

Bruce Willis’ daughter has shared a video of herself and her dad celebrating Thanksgiving late last week.

The 68-year-old Pulp Fiction star, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia back in February, can be seen touching his daughter’s hand in the short clip.

Frontotemporal dementia affects the lobes of the brain behind the forehead and causes symptoms such as personality changes, speaking difficulties, and obsessive behaviour.

Since his diagnosis earlier this year, his partner, Emma Heming Willis, has been caring for him with help from some of his children too.

As the family got together to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday (November 23), Bruce’s daughter Scout, who he shares with ex Demi Moore, shared the touching clip to Instagram.

The 32-year-old captioned the video “My guy” and it shows Willis holding her hand during a tender moment.

Fans were quick to offer their support to Bruce and the rest of the family in the comment section.

One wrote: “If you cannot take the bad with the good you don’t deserve that person at all. I think it’s good to share life’s struggles, we are all human, and all experience them. This sharing makes you relatable and more helpful to others. Nothing but love.”

Another penned: “You probably don’t read these, but I hope you do, because I want you to hear from a stranger that you and your family are beautiful. You seem to be the most loving and a fun group of non judgmental folks. I do pray for your dad, hopefully that’s ok. We love your family videos. You and your sister have beautiful voices. Keep singing, we are listening.”

A third commented: “I saw the video clip of you and your dad holding hands and found it so touching. The perfect poignant holiday moment. Your folks raised some wonderful young ladies.”
