Jenner says “Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision”
Caitlyn Jenner has announced that she has ‘filed paperwork’ to run for Governor of California.
The reality TV icon and former Olympian took to Twitter this afternoon to confirm the news.

In a statement, Jenner said: “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people.”
“Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision,” she said.
She continued: “Californians want better and deserve better from their governor. For too long, career politicians have over-promised and under-delivered.”
We need a leader with the vision and resolve to see it through,” she added.
According to Axios, the reality TV star has assembled a team that is made up of some former advisors to the former US President, Donald Trump.
Jenner joins several other candidates who are also hoping to become the next Governor of California, following reports that a recall election could take place later this year to replace the current Governor, Gavin Newsom.
The TV reality personality said that she plans to meet with Californians across the state to “hear their voices” and get the state “moving in the right direction.”
