He had previously said that God is the “ultimate provider of health.”
A cardinal who has been critical of the Covid-19 vaccine and quoted groups suggesting that it injects a “kind of microchip” has been placed on a ventilator after being infected with the disease.
Cardinal Raymond L. Burke confirmed via his Twitter account that he had been placed on a ventilator, just four days after he announced that he had contracted the virus.
The tweet said: “Cardinal Burke has been admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 and is being assisted by a ventilator. Doctors are encouraged by his progress.
“H.E. faithfully prayed the Rosary for those suffering from the virus. On this Vigil of the Assumption, let us now pray the Rosary for him.”

On August 10, Burke tweeted that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and that he was “resting comfortably and receiving excellent medical care.”
Praised be Jesus Christ! I wish to inform you that I have recently tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Thanks be to God, I am resting comfortably and receiving excellent medical care. Please pray for me as I begin my recovery. Let us trust in Divine Providence. God bless you.

Despite his praise for the medical care, it seems that he drew the line at actually getting vaccinated though, with the cardinal having previously been critical of the jab.

Speaking at a forum in May 2020, he said that “vaccination itself cannot be imposed, in a totalitarian manner, on citizens” and said that the vaccine injected a “kind of microchip” that permits people to be “controlled by the State regarding health and about other matters which we can only imagine.”
Religion News Service reports that he also has said that “it is never morally justified to develop a vaccine through the use of the cell lines of aborted fetuses,” adding that the state “is not the ultimate provider of health. God is.”
