CIA Director tells security officials not to ask him about Kim Jong-un’s death if he “should vanish”

"I’m just not going to talk about it."

North Korea won’t take this news lying down…

The CIA’s Director Mike Pompeo has told security officials at a Washington conference that the spy agency would keep a tight lip if something were to happen to North Korea’s leader.

According to the South China Morning Post, if Kim Jong-un was to suddenly disappear or die, the CIA wouldn’t have anything to say on the matter…

“With respect, if Kim Jong-un should vanish, given the history of the CIA, I’m just not going to talk about it,” he told the Foundation for Defence of Democracies forum.

“Someone might think there was a coincidence. ‘You know, there was an accident.’ It’s just not fruitful.”

Tensions between both the USA and North Korea have been rising over the last few months with both countries firing insults and threats at each other on a regular basis.

The statement from Pompeo comes only a few days after North Korea stated that nuclear war could break out at any given moment and that the planned removal of their “supreme leadership” by the US was more dangerous than a nuclear war.

Therefore, one of the top men at the CIA coming out and saying not to ask him questions if Jong-un disappears or vanishes probably does not come at the best time for the USA.

Speaking about North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, Pompeo said that Trump was prepared to use military forces if needed against the state.

“We are in a race to resolve this short of military action,” he said. “We are not out of time, but we are running out of time.”
