Unfortunately, Wayne Rooney doesn’t tweet like this anymore.
Going to sleep guys gonna count 19 sheep to help me sleep. #whenwasurlastleaguewasibornohyeahbarley

When the England and Manchester United captain tweets to his 13.9 million followers these days, it tends to be like this.
Good win today and now looking forward to Tuesday's game. Congratulations to @JesseLingard on his debut! pic.twitter.com/BaWMJUO95y

Rather than like this.

2011 Rooney would’ve undoubtedly hit back at criticism of his form with something like this.
@sam_oldham_LFC cool bring ur sandwedge girl

But, the 2016 version, like the player himself, is more reserved.
Another big 3 points @ManUtd. Always great to win last minute. Thanks to the fans who were great again 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 pic.twitter.com/tvVcBaTjCY

However, his wife Coleen has responded to the online criticism of the player, who is set to be dropped for England’s World Cup qualifier away to Slovenia on Tuesday night, and has found himself out of the United team for the past two games.
Rooney has been subjected to an awful lot of criticism in recent months due to his poor form for club and country. The player may be worth a lot of money, and criticism comes with the territory for such a high-profile figure, particularly when you’re not in good form, but that doesn’t mean he, or his family, won’t be affected.
The 30-year-old was booed leading out England against Malta on Saturday evening, and it appears that, combined with online criticism, has pushed his wife Coleen into responding.
Love the way Anyone & Everyone has to have an Opinion. Lighten up, life is short, give people a break. Some forget others have feelings too.
