The paper published a piece detailing apparent ‘British towns that are no-go areas for white people’. Understandably, people are furious
The Daily Mail are facing huge backlash over a piece they published on Saturday headlined ‘British towns that are no-go areas for white people’.
The piece noted several locations including Bradford, Blackburn and Dewsbury; Didsbury, Cardiff, Edinburgh and more as places where families live under “Taliban-like rules” and women “can’t leave the home without permission.”
Unsurprisingly, people on social media were quick to rubbish such reports, as well as admonish the Mail for publishing such an inflammatory article, with several people labelling it as “outright racism.”
Absolutely cannot cope with the Daily Mail’s conviction that *Didsbury* is a ‘no-go’ area for white people pic.twitter.com/BINPjPZNOk

Outright racism from the Daily Mail. That Bradford is a no-go zone for white people must come as a tremendous shock for the hundreds of thousands of white people who live and work in the city. Screenshot not link because don’t support this hate filled divisive rubbish. pic.twitter.com/8VnjSUzwx5

Yer actual Daily Mail claiming that Edinburgh and Glasgow are "no-go" areas for white people.
Must remember that the next time I visit Edinburgh's Mosque Kitchen for one of their excellent curries, alongside the hundreds of other white people who do the same weekly. pic.twitter.com/RtDQULUcal— Alan Ferrier (@alanferrier) June 6, 2021
One person also pointed out that just three weeks prior to this piece, Didsbury itself was included in a list of the “top 10 areas” for people to buy homes, describing it as a “Posh and leafy Manchester suburb”. You really couldn’t make it up.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 they should make their mind up. Posh, leafy suburb or no go area. Three weeks is a long time at the Daily Mail… https://t.co/SYcKSuP9Xd

Take it from a Mancunian (and all of the other commenters), multicultural though the city of Manchester may be, Didsbury is pretty darn white and I think I’ll go out on a limb and suggest that no of these areas listed live under anything resembling Sharia law.
The piece has, quite rightly, garnered a lot of negative attention given its incendiary nature. As this account below tweeted, there should be genuine concern that dangerous and divisive content like this is even allowed to be published, let alone be mocked after it is put online.
It should never become acceptable to normalise the far right. Whether it's the far right contesting seats in constituencies where an MP was murdered by a neo Nazi, or whether it's the Daily Mail printing articles that decry "no go areas" for white people. It's not acceptable.
