Singer Demi Lovato is “awake and talking” after being hospitalised following an apparent overdose.
A source that’s close to the singer told PEOPLE that she’s in a “stable” condition after being admitted last night.
Lovato, 25, was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital from her Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday and her publicist has confirmed that she’s now recovering.
“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now,” the statement read.
In the past, the singer has been very open and candid about her battles with addiction. Lovato has also revealed that she has frequently been using cocaine and had been diagnosed as bipolar. She also said she had struggled with alcoholism and an eating disorder.
