A series of promotional posters for Disney’s new Star Wars franchise, Solo, look remarkably similar to artwork produced by a French artist in 2015.

Hachim Bahous created the album covers for Sony Music France to front a series of compilation albums.

Writing on Facebook in French he said: “On the left are the official posters of the next Star Wars ( Disney ), on the right the compilations which I created in 2015 for Sony Music France / Legacy Recordings France following the briefing of the project manager Romain ‘Rpiz’ Pizon.

“I am flattered that the quality of my work is recognised, but it’s still pure forgery, I was not asked my authorisation, I want to be credited and paid for this work that I have done for Sony!

“A thought for all the people who worked hard on this very beautiful project.”

And you have to acknowledge the resemblance.

The posters are credited to BLT Communications by  IMP Awards, though the work is not featured on the company’s internet portfolio which does include recent and upcoming promotions for different films.

The agency has designed multiple assets for several Disney productions in the past, including Mary Poppins Returns, Thor: Ragnarok, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
