The whole Trump dynasty is something to behold.
Whilst power-hungry demagogue Donald Trump talks about building a giant wall between Mexico and the US, and banning all Muslims from entering the country “until we figure things out”, ex-wife Ivana Trump has leant her support to the Republican hopeful, with similarly ill-conceived comments.
The 67-year-old former model was born in Czechoslovakia, before it became the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. She married Trump back in 1977, before they eventually divorced in 1992 after 15 years together. Incidentally, Trump’s current spouse, Melania Knauss, is also an immigrant.
Despite their differences, Trump’s first wife has come out in support of her ex-husband’s tough stance on foreign nationals entering the country, whilst at the same time stressing that some immigration is still necessary – because Americans don’t like working as maids and cleaners.
“If they come here — like this 19-year-old, she’s pregnant, she crossed over a wall that’s this high. She gives birth in an American hospital, which is for free. The child becomes American automatically,” she explained to the New York Post. “She brings the whole family, she doesn’t pay the taxes, she doesn’t have a job, she gets housing, she gets the food stamps. Who’s paying? You and me.”
But then came the qualification: “As long as you come here legally and get a proper job, we need immigrants. Who’s going to vacuum our living rooms and clean up after us? Americans don’t like to do that.”
Yes Ivana, because that’s clearly the only thing immigrants are good for – that and marrying ruthless billionaires.
