The US Supreme Court on Monday allowed the latest version President Donald Trump’s travel ban to take effect, pending an appeal.
The ban will allow the Trump administration to fully enforce a ban on travel to the United States by residents of six mostly Muslim countries.
It’s the first time justices have allowed any versions of the ban to go forward in its entirety. Justices said on Monday that the policy can take full effect while the legal challenges go through the lower courts.
The ban applies to travellers from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. President Trump has issued three versions of the controversial policy since taking office in January.
