A massive electrical storm covered the country last night
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Bank Holiday Monday following “the mother of all thunderstorms” on Saturday night.
The Met Office warning for rain is in force until Monday May 28 affecting “all of Wales as well as southern and central England.”
There is a chance of delays with cancellations to train and bus services, according to the Met Office.
Tomasz Schafernaker, a forecaster at BBC Weather, tweeted: “Mother of all thunderstorms now over London. Oh boy! This UTTERLY INSANE. I’ve never seen a storm with such frequent lightning in my life I don’t think. Mostly sheet lightning and not too loud but flashes are spectacular.”

The monsoon like tropical storm comes as temperatures could reach as high as 29 degrees, with thundery outbreaks of rain set to continue in England and Wales.
Emma Plumb, another BBC meteorologist, said: “more [storms] are making their way up over the English Channel.”
