A German court has convicted a 67-year-old electrician of aggravated, dangerous and simple assault for removing the testicles of several men at their request.

Between July 2018 and March 2020, the man castrated or partially amputated the genitals of eight men. One of the men died several days after the defendant performed a procedure on him – but the man denied responsibility for his death.

His body was found by police in a box three weeks later.

A Munich regional court sentenced the man, whose name has not been released for privacy reasons, to eight years and six months in prison.

During the trial, the defendant admitted to offering “castrations” on sado-masochistic websites and said several men paid him money for torturing them and removing their testicles.

The man told the Second Regional Court of Munich that he carried out the operations on his kitchen table in the town of Markt Schwaben. He told his victims that he was a trained medical professional.

When police searched his house, they found electric shock devices with “genital area” and “anus” written on them, the Mail reports.

Prosecutors had initially charged the man with murder for failing to call for help in the case of the man who died but later dropped the charge in favour of the serious, aggravated and simple assault convictions.

Prosecutors had demanded 11 years in prison for aggravated and dangerous bodily injury. The defendant’s lawyers had asked the court to sentence him to no more than seven years.

It was the fact that all of the victims had agreed to be castrated by the man that was key in him being handed a more lenient sentence.
