Emergency services were called to an M&M factory after two people fell into a tank of chocolate, believed to be around waist height.
Lancaster County dispatched emergency services to an M&M/Mars factory in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, after a rather sticky situation emerged. No injuries were reported from the scene but two people, believed to be employees, were trapped in liquid chocolate and could not get out.
Elizabethtown firefighters attended alongside an ambulance.
“Fire crews have eliminated pulling them straight out of a tank,” Brad Wolfe, communications supervisor for Lancaster County 911 dispatch, told CNN. “They have to cut a hole in the side of the tank to get them out.”
It’s not yet clear how the employees fell into the tank.

“We are actively managing the situation and our primary focus is supporting emergency teams on site,” said a Mars Wrigley spokesperson.
Last month, a woman from North Carolina died after becoming trapped in an industrial bread machine. 44-year-old Virginia López Severiano was cleaning the machine when she became trapped for over two hours.
Selma Fire Department said they “basically took the machine apart in order to get the woman out.”
Despite being airlifted to Duke University Hospital upon her release, López Severiano sadly died from her injuries.
