Exact date snow to hit Britain with -5C cold snap on the way

There’s plenty of news at the minute but here’s how its winter backdrop is looking

The Met Office is predicting yet another cold snap and more wintery weather conditions as snow, ice and temperatures of -5C are set to hit the UK.

Meteorologists believe that despite having already been battered by the blustery Storm Arwen, as well as Storm Barra this past week or so, the next cold snap is due to arrive on December 19, with rain and snow on its way first.

Though temperatures themselves haven’t been too low recently and conditions are set to settle somewhat in the coming days, the weather is set to keep dropping as the month goes on and, according to WXCharts, the latest windchill prediction suggest it will feel like its anywhere from 0C to -5C.

It was only on Tuesday that the UK was given a tornado warning due to Storm Barra’s blustery presence, with high winds detected in Ireland and coastal towns once again issued with flood alerts as well as yellow ‘risk to life’ warnings.

For now, it seems like Britain will be back to its usual windy and rainy self in the immediate future. Such is life, especially during the winter – but it’s worth preparing for the next cold snap on December 19.
