A family member of murdered PCSO Julia James has questioned the lack of ‘uproar’ following her death last week
James’ body was found in Akholt Wood in Snowdown near Dover on 27 April. A murder investigation is underway, but no arrests have yet been made.
Samantha Griffin, James’ cousin, took to social media earlier this week to question why there has not been an ‘uproar’ or ‘outrage’ over her cousin’s murder. Griffin also referred to the lack of protests and vigils in the aftermath of James’ murder.
On Facebook, Griffin said: “Where is the uproar about my beautiful cousin? Where is the huge outrage and pouring of despair? Where are the vigils and protests about her murder?
“She was walking her dog, near her home…
“Thats all […] and somebody must know something about what happened!
“The person who did this, is walking our streets and your communities… so let’s stand up and make sure we swamp social media with her beautiful face in the hope that we can get information or the vile human who did this decides to hold their hands up!
“Our family, her friends and colleagues will not rest.”

Assistant Chief Constable of Kent Police, Tom Richards, said: “Enquiries continue at pace, as does our very visible presence in the Aylesham and Snowdown areas.”
“Whilst we will not be telling people what they can and can’t do, we are urging people to be vigilant and to be aware of their surroundings. Work is still underway to establish the motive for Julia’s killing and we’re keen people stay and feel safe.”
