Scottish MP is accused of travelling cross-country allegedly knowing she had Covid symptoms
The Member of Parliament for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, Margaret Ferrier, will stand trial in August facing allegations she travelled from Glasgow to London with Coronavirus.
The politician, 61, is accused of making several journeys cross-country, having been told to self-isolate between September 26 and 29, 2020.
The MP is also believed to have travelled in and around Glasgow over three days in September 2020, including trips to Lifestyle Leisure Centre in Rutherglen, Vanilla Salon and Sweet P Boutique.
She is also alleged to have visited Grace and Flavour in East Dunbartonshire, St Mungo’s Church in Glasgow and Vic’s Bar in Prestwick, Ayrshire.
Prosecutors allege Ferrier had booked a test for Covid-19, confirming in the booking application that she had symptoms of the virus.
She has pleaded not guilty and will face trial in August, later this year.
Margaret Ferrier, elected as the SNP MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West in 2019, has since been suspended by the party.
