The toddler was reported missing on Saturday
A two-year-old girl who went missing in east London has been found dead in a garden.
She was reported missing from a home in Dagenham at 4pm on Saturday (January 29)
Police quickly responded and shut off roads as they searched for her. It was when they were searching a garden on Reede Road they found her body.
The police have not confirmed whether it was the garden of the home the girl went missing from.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The girl was found unresponsive in the garden.
“Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained.”
The girl’s next of kin have been informed.
The investigation is being led by the Met’s East Area command, with a post mortem to take place in the coming days.
As of yet there have been no arrests made.
