They’ve swapped Windsor for Hollywood

Six months after ceasing their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to embark on a new career together in Hollywood.

Markle is of course well versed in the world of television, having worked as an actress before meeting Harry, playing a starring role in popular TV drama, Suits.

The pair have now founded a production company and signed a multiyear contract with Netflix.

Their company will produce documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming to be viewed by the streaming service’s 193 million worldwide subscribers.

While they might make the odd appearance in front of camera during the documentaries, Meghan has no plans of returning to the acting business.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.” They added that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”

“We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer, said in a statement.
